  • Magazines
  • Paper and Pressed Cardboard (like cereal boxes and egg cartons)
  • Corrugated Cardboard
  • Aluminum Cans, Foil, and Pie plates
  • Tin Cans
  • Metal
  • Plastic (#1 thru #7). Included are bottles, jars, drink containers, and trays.
  • Glass Bottles and Jars
  • Clean and dry plastic bags
  • Small Amounts of Residential Telephone Books, Hard & Soft cover books
  • DURING BUSINESS HOURS: Cellphones, clean and dry plastic bags

  • Motor oil containers
  • Chemicals
  • styrofoam: egg cartons, logs, peanuts.. none!
  • plate glass, light bulbs, pyrex anything
  • glass serving bowls, trays, etc.
  • waxed containers, e.g. milk, soy milk, juice
  • Inkjet & Toner cartridges

Electronics  Ecology Action does NOT accept electronics. Goodwill Industries accepts electronic goods.


Please sort your materials into our clearly marked bins AND don't leave us with any items we do NOT take. If bags of unsorted items are left, and deemed trash WE WILL THROW THEM AWAY. So please sort your materials.

Bertram Recycling Center

Off Hwy 29 between Burnet and Liberty Hill, inside (yes, inside!) the water tower. From Hwy 29, head north on West St. (last street on the right - no sign!). Go 4 blocks across railroad tracks, past a Christian church on the left and a Church of Christ on the right. Continue straight on the gravel road to the water tower that houses the station.

Open 24 hours a day.

Pflugerville

Location:  2609 E.Pecan - next to Travis County Metro Park.
Hours:  Monday through Saturday, 8 am - 5 pm.

To recycle in Pflugerville's Center you must be a citizen of the City of Pflugerville or a resident of the City's extra-territorial jurisdiction (ETJ).  Please bring a valid picture ID and a recent utility statement for verification. 
 
Items to be recycled:
  • Scrap metal
  • Vehicle Batteries
  • Appliances
  • Refrigerators and Air Conditioners (Limit of 3 each per household)
  • Motor oil 
  • Tires (Limit of 4 per household)
  • Tree limbs/brush 
  • Cardboard (Corrugated only)
  • Paper
  • Glass (in partnership with Ecology Action of Texas)
No Plastics please!  These are recycled at curbside.
 
Mulch and Compost are available onsite at No Charge!  Bring your own containers and loading tools.  All materials must be loaded by the recipient.
 
East Command Center in Manor and 1431 Transfer Station Recycling Center both closed starting Jan. 6, 2009 due to lack of funding.
