Circle Acres is a 10 acre nature preserve and green infrastructure demonstration site. Ecology Action is working to clean and protect the land here, which has suffered decades of destructive uses as a quarry, landfill and illegal dumping site - but is now becoming a beautiful natural resource for the surrounding Montopolis neighborhood, and all of Austin!
Volunteer days involve maintaining walking trails, removing litter, and making green infrastructure improvements to storm-water access points like culverts and tributary breaches.
Bring water and dress for the weather with sturdy, closed-toe shoes. We recommend lightweight but long sleeve and pants for the summer.
Entrances to Circle Acres are located off of Grove Boulevard (just before the entrance to Roy G. Guerrero Park) & 420 Kemp Street (look for the concrete letters leaning against the fence). Please park in the parking lot at Roy G. or on Kemp Street.
